History of computers and games
Ralph Baer is called the inventor of video games. His first experiments in using a television screen for games date back to 1966. Enlisting the support of two engineers and receiving $ 2,500 for the experiment, Baer created the Brown Box, the world's first video game console system, in two years. She got her name in honor of the fact that her outer coating was made under the veneer.
For four years, Baer could not find a company that would undertake to promote this unusual product to the market. This happened only in 1972, when Baer modified his "Brown Box" - this console was named Magnavox Odyssey. One of the first "Brown Boxes" is now kept at the Smithsonian Institution.
In March 1971, Baer received the world's first patent for "television gaming and teaching equipment".
In 1972, Baer invented the world's first light gun that could reach the mass market.
