Pong was the first game developed by Atari and is one of the earliest arcade video games, it is a tennis sports game using simple 2D graphics.
Nolan Bushnell came up with the idea of ping-pong for the creation of the game to his employee, programmer Allan Alcorn. Allan had no game development experience at the time, and Pong became a training project for him.
At the time, the idea of video game ping pong had already been pursued by Magnavox Odyssey, leading to a lawsuit against Atari.
